2016 Ted Savage RBI Golf Classic

On June 7th, the Cardinals hosted the 27th Annual Ted Savage RBI Golf Classic at the Norman K. Probstein Golf Course in Forest Park. This annual fundraiser supports the local St. Louis Chapter of the Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) program (which operates out of the Matthews-Dickey Boys and Girls Club), through Cardinals Care, the official non-profit arm of the St. Louis Cardinals.

Paid foursomes were paired with former Cardinals players and local celebrities in what amounted to a great day at the golf course! Some of the celebrities in attendance included: Kyle McClellan, Brad Thompson, and Bernard Gilkey.

This year’s event raised over $20,000 for the local St. Louis Chapter of the RBI program through Cardinals Care!

The RBI Program was established in 1989 as a means to provide disadvantaged youth with an opportunity to learn and enjoy the game of baseball. Major League Baseball decided to endorse the RBI concept and provide financial support for the program. MLB has administered the program since 1991, and has seen the program grow to encompass more than 200 cities and as many as 200,000 male and female participants a year.

We would like to thank our presenting sponsors from this event, including: Edward Jones, Kaufman Broadcast, and Success Promotions. The 2016 Ted Savage RBI Golf Classic was a great event that will aid in the impact of growing youth baseball in the local community!
